Aloe Vera is one of those ingredients that have become immensely popular among the cosmetic industries. Whether it is creams, gels, moisturizers etc, it is everywhere. The healing abilities of Aloe Vera had been recognized by ancient India, Greek, Egypt and Roman civilization.
The cactus like looking plant is not just an ordinary plant. Aloe Vera or “Ghrita Kumara” in Sanskrit was referred to as the “plant of immortality” by the Egyptians. Aloe Vera has been mentioned in the book of Rig Veda which is the earliest book of medicine. A complete detail of its medicinal uses is also found in the “Papyrus ebers”, an Egyptian document written in BCE 1,550 which shows several formulae’s as to how to mix it with other agents to reduce skin and internal disorders.
Aloe Vera is one of the beauty agents which are famous for its treating abilities for example moisturizing, exfoliating, restoring etc and providing constant nutrition to the human skin. In beauty line products, Aloe Vera is mostly known for its moisturizing abilities. It acts a moisturizer without leaving a greasy feel. It is superb for those having an oily skin and can also be applied as an excellent makeup base.
Besides beauty problems, Aloe Vera has several other uses also. It also aids in digestion problem and weight loss. Currently the FDA i.e. Food and Drug Administration has approved the use of Aloe Vera plants for the research of Cancer treatment and AIDS, where the immunity system goes down.
Even a normal person without any problem can use it for staying.
